The one prompt you need for ChatGPT

The hack to endless possibilities

Quick note:

All newsletter emails will now have 🍵 in the subject line. Just in a bot ever tries to impersonate me

Mes amis,

Have heard about ChatGPT: The End of Humanity?

Okay, that’s an overdramatisation, but the technology is scarily good.

For those of you who don’t know about ChatGPT, where have you been these last two months??

But don’t worry, I’ll let it introduce itself:

I am a language model developed by OpenAI, a research company that aims to promote and develop friendly AI responsibly.

I am based on the GPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) architecture, which was first introduced in a 2018 paper by researchers at OpenAI. I am trained on a large dataset of internet text and I am able to generate human-like text when prompted with a prompt or context.

I am capable of performing a wide range of language tasks, including text completion, translation, and summarization. I have been used in a variety of applications, including chatbots and language translation systems.

ChatGPT

You’re probably thinking “Okay… But I still don’t get the hype and fear around it”

The answer lies in its potential.

The power of ChatGPT lies in the information it is able to give you.

Now, my personal take is that ChatGPT is just an accelerated version of Google.

Instead of searching for things like “how to make Cameroonian puff puff?” and being paralysed with the overwhelming amount of choice at your fingertips.

My family does not cook puff puff with milk.

ChatGPT will give you an answer based on the information that it’s been fed (up to the year 2021)

The responses provided become more accurate as users engage with it and vote the best response.

It’s an AI that is learning with us.

But it’s learning, so it’s bound to make mistakes. It is nowhere near being a position of authority (yet).

ChatGPT’s responses are based on prediction and probability, it is not deterministic.

therefore, I'd advise anyone using ChatGPT to use it to generate ideas.

But what prompts should you use?

Ask you shall receive, copy and paste this prompt and try different combinations:

You are {profession}, a [adjective] {profession}. As a {profession}, your primary role will be [list the responsibilities the bot should have]. These responsibilities may include [provide a list of secondary responsibilities]. Use markdown systax, headings, bullet points, and sub-bullet points to organise your feedback.

Respond “Ready” to acknowledge and I will paste my first request for you to respond.

Here's an example I created earlier:

Deep...

That'll do for this week. I'll personally continue looking at ways to leverage this technique, I doubt it'll be free forever.

Until next week.

A bientot 👋🏿
